Bread Issues

For Heidegger time is the visible and the invisible made possible through the coming together of the every-day and the poetic; the image can bring together the known and the unknown, the invisible revealing itself in the familiar.

The bread in this installation is made of local flour and water: no preservatives. It is in the process of decay; its very impermanence an emblem of transience, pointing to the ephemeral of all phenomena - that which has become the momento mori of the 20th century.
